Rebel Without a Cause focuses on a typical American teenage boy. A movie which includes Jim Stark played by James Dean who is introduced drunk on the sidewalk playing with money and toys. This is an introduction to a grey line between adult hood and wanting to feel childish. He is wearing a stunning suit which makes this juxtaposition ore powerful. As the movie continues forward, Jim is in the grey area between adulthood and childhood. He soon changes direction becoming a rebel and break through to a new path. But that feeling which he went through was an unsettling feeling of not knowing a purpose. The red jacket he wears throughout the film gives the sense of an
John Hughes is a classic to many teenagers living through the 80's. Breakfast club It happens to pinpoint and 5 stereotypical teenagers. the athelete , the princess, the geek, the basket case, and the criminal.Throughout the movie, the vice principal who watches them we see them as a strict adult. This adds to the division of ages. While the kids learn about each other they learn who they are. Hughes was trying to show that if you take the name off the kids faces, you might find similarities and connections.all teenagers are looking for is acceptance from their peers and from themselves.
